Terms & Conditions of Hire
In all matters - French law applies

Rental
prices are covered under Tariffs. Prices indicated are for the
property per week, inclusive of electricity, gas (cooking) &
water. Please note that the rental charges have been adjusted
for bookings made in the low & mid season periods to include
an additional charge to cover increased wood / electricity consumption.

Bed Base Sheets, Duvets, Duvet Covers, Pillows & Pillow
Cases are provided, along with some spare blankets.

Bed
linen must not be laundered by the client, it is changed weekly
on changeover day.

Beach
Towels & Tea Towels are NOT provided.

The
"property" stated, as La Bonne Vie is owned by Mrs.
Joanna Richardson. The "owner" offers the property
for rental, subject to confirmation, to the person wishing to
rent it - "the client"

Strictly
no smoking in the Gite !
-
Well behaved, wildlife respecting pets are only permitted by
prior arrangement. Under no circumstances must any client's
pets be left in or around the Gite unaccompanied.

The
client is required to send a completed booking form together
with initial payment of a non-refundable deposit amounting to
50% of the rental fee. The owner will issue formal acceptance
of the booking in a letter of confirmation.

The client must pay the outstanding balance plus a 'Security
& Breakages Deposit' of £100 no later than 8 weeks
prior to the commencement of the holiday. If payment is not
received by this date, the owner reserves the right to give
written notice of cancellation of the booking. The client will
remain liable to pay the whole outstanding balance unless the
owner receives an alternative booking by a third party.

In
the event of a cancellation, the client will only be refunded
(less deposit) if the owner receives an alternative booking
by a third party. Any costs incurred by the owner as a result
of cancellation will be deducted from the amount that is refunded.
In the unlikely event that the owner is required to cancel the
booking, the owner is limited to a full refund of all monies
paid by the client, and refund will be made within 7 days. Under
no circumstances shall the owner's liability exceed the amount
paid by the client for the rental period.

It
is strongly advised that all clients arrange appropriate travel
insurance, including cancellation cover. Insurance should also
cover the client's personal belongings, personal motor vehicle(s)
& other accidents. These are not covered by the owners insurance.

The
property is available from 4.00 p.m. (local time) on the commencement
date, and must be vacated by 10.00 a.m. (local time) on the
day of departure. The owner is not obliged to offer the property
before the time stated, and the client is not entitled to remain
in the property after the agreed time. Any changes to these
times must be by prior agreement with the owner, in writing.

A security & breakages deposit of £100 is required,
to be included in / with the final balance payment. This is
to cover potential damage to the property or contents during
the rental period. However this amount shall not limit the client's
liability to the owner. The owner will refund the balance due
to the client within 10 days of departure once the property
has been thoroughly examined for damage and the inventory checked
off.

The
maximum number of people staying at the property must not exceed
the number as stated on the booking form, unless with prior
agreement from the owner.

The property must be left in the same satisfactory condition
as upon arrival. An additional cleaning charge may be deducted
from the security deposit if the property is not left in a
satisfactory condition.

The
client must report without delay any defects in the property
or malfunction of equipment or appliances in the property or
garden. This is to ensure that repairs or replacements can be
arranged as quickly as possible. It will also assist in avoiding
any misunderstanding with regard to responsibility &/or
liability for the damage.

With
regard to both parties living adjacent, the client agrees to
conduct themselves in a courteous manner and to show consideration
for the neighbours for the duration of the holiday. General
noise & amplified music must be kept to an absolute minimum
at all times. In accordance with French law you must not disturb
your neighbour before 10.00 a.m., after dark or on a Sunday
(or Public Holiday).

The
clients further agree to take good care of the property, and
to leave it in a clean & tidy condition at the end of the
rental period. This includes the removal of all domestic and
household waste generated during the rental period. Please note
that only French toilet paper can be put down the toilets as
the property runs off a fosse septic tank. All other sanitary
waste MUST NOT be disposed of down the toilets. Failure to respect
these terms & conditions will be subject to clause '14'
being applied.

The
owner shall not be liable to the client for any loss, damage
or injury that may occur during the rental period. Similarly,
the owner shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury
which results from adverse weather conditions, flooding, fire,
riot, war, strikes, acts of god or any other matters beyond
the owner's control.
